Default Brake fluid issues

Hi all, I keep getting a recurring message on the dash of my 2009 V70 D5, saying my brake fluid is low, stop safely.... Thing is is, the reservoir is filled to the max level, it hasn't had replacement discs or pads and the brakes work and feel absolutely fine.

Is it a common issue for the sensor in the reservoir to go? Or will this happens if there's too much brake fluid in the reservoir?

Baffled?! Tried the search function but doesn't seem to be a common issue?

Many thanks!

It will come on and off at various times, but sharp corners or steep hills do seem to trigger the message to re appear.

Fluid level in reservoir seem normail. Weird.

Is there an electrical connector to the reservoir? The level sensor might have failed. It can happen if the wire is pulled. It's what happens with the coolant reservoir sensor.

does anyone remember the cryptic note that appears for those who have pad wear indicators installed? Could it be that this is what is happening here?
