s40 t4, knocking on front end
still ongoing, i have had the anti roll bar links changed, had my mate check it over and could not find anything!
But spoke to another volvo driver and he asked volvo mechanic, he said it could be top of suspension struts? A rubber bush that goes, is this the case, if so how much to replace? Going down bumpy roads at about 20 ( man hole covers etc, i here knocks, and it drives me mad!) thanks for help |

I agree. My last S40 knocked like hell on uneven surfaces and the anti-roll bar mounting bush had come out (it's common). The subframe needs to be dropped to bolt it back in and Volvo have a redesigned part to prevent it happening in future.
I got a full set of bushes and clamps for £15 and I paid £40 for it to be done at a local garage. |
