Steering lock/column '66 122s
I have a steering/ignition lock on my '66 122s but think originally it came without as there's a hole in the dash where the original ignition once was and the armoured cable and original Bosch coil is still there.Don't know if it was a factory conversion or was done by one of it's owners at some point in it's life.
Pic showing the conversion, the horn doesn't work of the steering wheel but a working horn button has been mounted on the dash just above the fan switch. The overdrive light is up between the cig lighter and fan switch. The original ignition housing with armoured cable still remains with wires attached that I think lead to the new ignition(must take another look) Closer look at the ignition/steering lock from underneath.. The steering column inside the engine bay.. No complaints from me as everything works as it should . I may in the future want to fit a 123gt electronic dizzy and uprated coil as I've read good stuff about it but is my set up going to complicate an install ? |
