Volvo S40 Won't Start
Hello, I'm new to this forum and to Volvo's.
I have a 2004(54) S40 1.8 petrol and have developed a problem starting recently. A couple of weeks ago we had a frost and when i went to start the car at 5 am.....nothing. All the lights on the dash came on when i inserted the key but when i turned to position 2 to crank the engine nothing happend and the message read "Brake Failure Stop Safely" then when i turned the key to position 1 "Immobiliser". I checked the battery voltage and the reading was 12.3 volts. I left the car and walked to work. When i came home, and it was a bit warmer, i tried to start it again and hey presto cranked 1st time. The voltage read 13.3 volts when running. I thought this maybe a bit low so bought a new battery. The next morning, again after a frost, same problem. Again walked to work, came home, started 1st time!!!! Everthing was fine for the last 2 weeks and then last night another frost and this morning same problem, messages etc.
Any advice would be appreciated as getting very frustrated now.
