Steering Lock stops??
Does a 2009 V50 1.8 petrol have lock stops on the steering? My daughter is complaining of what I assume is tyre rub when on full lock.
On the V70 there are lock stops which prevent tyre rub ( fastened to the lower wish bone) but a crawl ( in the rain today) under the car, proved a fruitless search.. Cheers Bob |

AFAIK, no they don't.
If there is tyre rub the first place I'd look is a broken front coil spring, I had exactly the same symptoms when one went on the previous C70. Hope this helps

im sure if the car came as standard with 18" wheels there is a reduced turning circle which I assume is by the use of stops. but if only just started doing it as above id look at broken spring.

Daughter took car to local garage - no snapped coil spring but bushes in the lower arms are shot. Not sure how this affects wheel rubbing, but WILL contibute to the wheel wobble she mentioned at 70mph which I assumed was just out of balance wheels.
Notice Eurocarparts do unknown ( to me) copy parts and Allgermanparts do Meyle and Lemforder, which I know. Can you go copy or is Volvo (FRF swansea) the place to go?? Have no appitite whatsoever for rebushing the arms. Cheers Bob |
