Default Rear park assist camera -other uses

Having taken my xc60 into various car parks now, I have noticed that the rear view camera view with its imposed yellow lines gives a good indication of how wide the parking bays are and shows up those places with sub-standard bay widths. There is probably a one foot difference between the widest and the narrowest. My parking strategy is becoming to seek out the wider bays such as might be at the end of a row, or next to a hatched area (in which case not actually wider but with no possibility of another vehicle on one side). The other day I noticed that someone else had parked their xc60 in precisely such a bay, so I may not be alone in this.

Yep we noticed this too, some places we frequent we know where to park but there are a fair number of car parks a XC60 just don't fit well which is where our alternative 4x4 hatch comes in handy.
Mind you parking the XX60 is doddle compared to 2 ton of VW camper lol!
