The whistling
The other half says it now a rubbing sound and not whistling ,
being deaf I could not hear it On inspection I am now sure it is the brake pad that was sticking Discs were wet with the rain and heat all combined to the problem Checked and driven this morning no more sound so will change the pads and also consider the discs at the same time Regards Rammer |

Check that the slide pins are clean and moving freely Check the condition of the piston boot Lubricate with brake grease the surfaces where the brake pads slide in the clips and also the backing plates of the pads where they touch on the piston or the bracket Same with the disc, unless it has a deep groove that is catching on the pad, it is unlikely to be a problem
