headlamp bulbs
GRRRRRRRRR N/S dipped beam bulb has gone pop
Because my V70R has a Prinz LPG system getting to the covers on the back of the headlamp unit to gain access to the bulbs is going to be a RPITA as the LPG thinghy is in the way and that is going to mean I need tiny tiny tiny hands, that of course is my problem. Looking on YouTube seems I should remove the bumper to get access to remove the headlamp unit, that seems crazy. BUT what bulbs should I fit just a standard H7 55W bulb, a high performance H7 55W bulb or go for a 100W version or should I consider fitting LED bulbs thanks kindest regards

Im interested in a definitive answer on this as well, I've not heard anything that says it's definitely ok in terms of law
for example, how accurate is this info.. https://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/bl...gal-in-the-uk/ |

I have been very happy with Osram Ultralife bulbs. These last much longer than standard bulbs which means you won’t have to go through the awkward process of replacing blown bulbs very often. The NS bulbs are a pain to replace on the facelift S60 without removing the bumper, so once I’d done the job once, I didn’t want to have to do it again in the near future.

Confused here... if your car is an awd R your bulbs will be Xenon???? not H7 tungstens. The fittings are totally different. If this is 1st new bulb fitment remove bumper and remove light. Then u can see how replacement works. If all bits come apart u can remove bumper ( with practice) in 20 minutes. I bought genuine volvo bulbs on basis that originals lasted 10+ years and they were also DRL..

I have had to change a couple of H7s on our XC70 and it was the N/S both times so air box etc out of the way and then it was a tight.
Its crazy to have to remove a bumper to change what is in real terms, a serviceable item. The worlds gone mad. |

the bumper removal is easy, I could probably have it off in 10mins
what's awkward/fiddly/ideally a 2 person job is getting it back on again totally agree though having to do so to change a bulb is ludicrous |

Beg to differ. These were fitted in my 2004 V70Awd R. in the dip beam location. 95% sure the mains were tungsten though.
