Default V70XC Clutch Problem

We have an 01 V70XC which has a clutch pedal that appears to no longer go down as far as it used to, meaning the clutch only just disengages, making it difficult to select a gear when stationary with the engine running. The fault occurred suddenly and after a few weeks is not getting progressively worse, so the car remains driveable - just.

I opened the bleed nipple while my Wife pressed the clutch pedal and the pedal would not go down further, so there is nothing wrong with the slave cylinder.

I have looked up in the footwell but nothing has dropped or moved to impede the pedal mechanism, so either something has come adrift in the master cylinder or the switch that disengages the cruise control has shifted.

Eliminating the cheapest components first seems the sensible option and I have a recollection that a while ago, the car started to drop out of cruise for no reason at all, so it could be that the cruise control switch has shifted.

We have not bought a Haynes manual for this model yet and am having difficulty locating on-line instructions relating to this switch. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is there another possibility that I have overlooked?

Hello new member and welcome. You have a MY01 XC70 with a manual transmission, is that right?

Looks like front of house were more interested in the hors d'oeuvres than the main course.

10 days, pffttt
