Default Original(?) & Complete 240 Electric Sunroof. Rare??

A bit of an enigma is this one so any info regards it would be great.
Having never seen a 240 with an electric sunroof to find one thats fully working on the 240 im breaking is quite a treat.
However i have no real idea of its value so am open to offers on it.
I would recommend when it sells that the buyer comes and removes so as to aid its refit on to their car.

Not so rare by that age but the 76 245 with K jet and original electric roof is super rare!

That sound a fair price to me. I hate sunroofs but the electric one would make a nice upgrade for someone

Looks like an aftermarket job to me rather than an original sunroof, the 240 leccy sunroofs simply had a motor and gear mechanism that fitted in the place of the usual windy handle, and a switch that looked like this . Still, if it works why not?

Also, is it in a 245? The headlining looks like the 245 one from the pic, and as far as I know the 245 was never available with a sunroof from the factory. My old one had an aftermarket roof put in, and AFTER I crashed it, while stripping the car out, I found they'd cut the main lateral strengthening beam in the roof between the B-pillars to fit the sunroof - glad I never got t-boned in that car.

Thanks wooble. Quality reply .yes on closer inspection it is certainly an aftermarket one but a quality one never the less. At £60 it has to be a punt for somebody

Yep, gotta be worth it for someone - upside is since it's aftermarket you should be able to retrofit it to anything you've a mind to with a bit of creative roof-chopping!

There were a number of 245s running around Glasgow and Edinburgh in the late 1980s that had flush-to-the-roof steel sliding roofs fitted: I especially remember a gold GLT because it was running level with the coach I was on (Citylink's 500) and had a full gauge pack as well. And a Master of Wine who did a tasting session in Glasgow had a dark silver or gunmetal one.

It's possible that they were Golde aftermarket conversions because I saw both a Triumph 2000/2500 saloon and a 5-speed VX490 with similar style roofs and that definitely was not a factory option on the 490.
