rear spring v40 P2
Where can you see witch spring you have under your car?I need to tow a trailer MTM 1200kg but my rear wheels touch the sides. Is there a color code or only difference in thickness for the rear springs?

Firstly, there will be a suspension code under the bonnet which tells you the set up your car had out of the factory.
Genuine springs had different colour markings for them (double pink means sport Nivomat springs for example.) Your car's wheels touch make contact without any load on them? If yes, I would look into this asap as if the set up is wrong, your ride quality will be affected amongst other things.

rear spring code
Tnx for your answer,I suppose the setup will be on the ID plate but where am I looking for? I know coulor, trim but where and how is the setup marked?
On the springs I can not see any colour marks.Maybe not the original. The wheels touch the side when five adults on board and driving on our famous bad roads.I would like to change the springs and then go for a alignment. Last edited by loely; May 7th, 2017 at 11:40. |

Here you can find a thread with more info on the suspension codes.
Download the PDF further down the page. http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?p=961163 If that is the case, I would recommend having both rear springs and rear shock absorbers changed for dynamic ones. These will bear the codes 2B. best of luck.
