XC90: How often do you check your tyre pressures?
Been over 7 months since I took delivery of my MY17 XC90.
So far I've not had any warnings/messages in Sensus about tyre pressures. Sensus shows tyres are good, and so does the VoC app on my phone. So haven't really bothered with checking the pressures. Visibly tyres look fine too. What's everyone doing? Just trusting the Sensus/app or manually checking? Anyone had any issues? Thanks

So essentially, don't rely on the car to tell you the tyres are gradually loosing pressure, only rely on it to tell you one tyre suddenly starts loosing pressure faster. AA, RAC ad other recommend checking once a month. To me this seems a bit of overkill, but I'd check at least every 2 - 3 months. :wq

Thanks for the inputs.
On a related note: One of you said you stick to Eco pressures. And my car was set to Eco pressure by the dealer too. What about the rest of you? Do you prefer Eco pressure or the lower, comfort pressure? The User Guide says the comfort pressure is good for travel comfort (obviously), and noise. Is the difference significant between those pressures? I'll check my tyres and lower them to comfort pressure, if they aren't already at or below that level, after 7 months of use.

I run the minimum pressures specified as it makes for a quieter, more comfortable ride. My car was delivered with ECO pressures and I found it too harsh.
I check the pressures every couple of months.

I also found the eco pressure uncomfortable (19" and air). I only use it when traveling with the fully loaded car.
Since that happens about every 3 months to drive to a holiday destination, tyre pressure is checked/adapted regularly.

Mine are set to 42psi permanently. Stops the car wallowing around or sliding too much on the M181 south/M180 west bend.......
Have an active system on my car so basically never check them, apart from sorting them out after it has been to the dealer.....

Had 7 people in my XC90 the other week, the tyre sensors triggered. Reset them. Then they got out and sensors went off again. Just about sums up this car. Nothing quite works as it should.

Considering your safety and the lives of your children/loved ones depends on those four small patches of rubber in contact with the road, how often do you think you should check your tyre pressures?
I don't think once a month is excessive. |

Check mine typically once a month. More frequently if long trips are planned. Usually find they only need a few psi adding each time.
Always try to check them when tyres are cold. If tyres are warm I add 4-5psi
