Yes there is a long list of names for the 850 and if/when the time comes I will let everyone know.

Weather is certainly getting warmer now at a toasty 7°C today, the rain has stopped and the sun is shining so the 850 was pushed out of the garage into the daylight for a while to get some air round it

A bit of a surprise this week when the insurance renewal arrived for the 850. Last year's premuim it went up 11% and then in November the V70 went up 38% so I was expecting another hike. To my surprise the renewal was exactly the same as last year. I called a few other providers who offer classic policies and they were all more expensive so I'm going to stay with my provider for another year

The 850 is still tucked away in the garage awaiting the better weather. The MOT is now due but I've put it off for another couple of weeks, as last year when going to and returning from the MOT station there was a heavy frost during the night and the gritters were out, so when I returned home the car was covered in salt. Postponing for a couple more weeks might just be enough for the salt to have been washed off the roads...

Started the car today for the first time since 30th September last year. For some strange reason it had a very noisy hydraulic tappet which it never had before when left over winter. A few minutes later it was all quiet again and back to normal

My plan for today was to not start the engine but when I looked underneath the car I noticed an oil leak coming through the sump cover splash guard, so I decided to put the car on the lift to investigate. It turned out to be the sump plug was weeping slightly, I did an oil change last year and fitted a new washer, but it decided to leak. I've tightened it up a bit more and I'll keep a close eye on it as the oil has only done about 1400 miles and I don't want to remove the sump plug just now.

While I had the sump splash guard off I decided to fit some rivet nuts and bolts instead of the self tapping bolts I previously fitted. I don't have the fancy tool for fitting them but it's easy enough with a nut/bolt/washers and a couple of spanners to insert them.

That is interesting 4x4. I managed to get my insurance premium down this year by shopping around. The auto renewal figure hadn't gone up that much (by £50 maybe) so I wanted to see if I could better it. I originally searched for classic car insurance and the company with an 'e', followed by a 'sure' came out the best - not exactly a classic car insurer, but the details I entered for other classic providers were the same.

Your 850 GLT looks superb and testament to the care and attention you put in. Long may she continue to grace the roads.
