TBH, I've discounted any cosmetic work on the grey skirts for now, simply because I've noticed that they always pick up marks, especially from indiscriminate folk in public carparks etc.. If I colour coded them, the marks would be only the more obvious.

true, thats why i left my door and bumper strips black, but i have to say the paint on the skirts holds up pretty good, no less than the rest of the car. my whole car needs a lot of attention at the body shop to be honest. each to thier own i suppose

Very impressive.

The only thing that worries me is the cost.

How deep must ones pockets be to modify to that extent?

Very?

Nope! All depends on how much work you can do yourself and what extent you intend to go to with the real precision stuff; I've avoided the latter and just used basic components which are up to the job. If you're patient, you will find some bargains or alternatively, source them from overseas.

i figure it depends which way you look at it..... i had a good look under the bonnet & when you start adding bits up its fairly obvious its going to amount to quite alot of money!!!

however.... its still going to be less than going out & buying an M3 or RS4.....

i know which route i would rather take!!

I've seen this beast of a car in action here at RAF Marham on our track and I can confirm that it isn't shy and it keeps up with the best of em. This V40 flys the flag for all Volvos on our track and I enjoy telling people what it is when I'm asked.

I second that! I had the car on the marham day on the straight and a Evo was along side. I floored it as the Evo was trying to pull along the side and initially both cars were even but as the speed was into the 3-digits the T4 began to pull away thus leaving the evo. I was truly impressed... more so when we realised the ecu was holding back somewhere. I am not technical so only pyaap will be able to explain what it was all about.

cheers
