1986 Volvo 740 2.3 (Carb) LPG Fitting Question
Hiya
I have a lovely condition 1986 2.3 (Carb) 740 Saloon which I really want to keep, but it's crippling me financially. As I'm on a tight budget, I'd like to fit LPG - can anyone recommend a kosher installer near to me (Shropshire/Staffordshire) and a rough guide price? I have heard mention that a kit is available for under £300 - is this true? Apologies if I seem a wee bit vague on this, but I'm not particularly mechanically minded! All advice gratefully received! Thanks in advance! |

You could probably get a s/h kit for about that money but a new kit would be around £550 for the 740.
The carb 740 can be a pain to convert if you don't know how to fit the mixer. Do it wrong and it will back fire non stop for you. Only only good converters in your area that I know of would not do it because they only do modern injection cars. I charge £800 for doing the 740 with spare wheel replacment tank. I get a lot of custsomers from allover the county for both installations and repairs. Have a talk to some local installers and see what they say.Make sure they have done a CARB volvo 740 before |
