Default RE: powder coat or paint?

In my opinion you get a much better quality finish if you paint a wheel properly, any way most if not all of the oem wheels come painted.

But there are advantages to powder coating, it's cheaper to do and if done properly is more durable than paint & you don't get runs.

It's all about preperation if you can't be arsed to do that it will all go wrong. What happens if you don't prep a steel gate, it looks great for a while then rapidly goes wrong it's the same with wheels. I had some wheels brand new and when I complained the finish was peeling off they wouldn't give me a new set but offered to refurb them, when they came back they had been powder coated the whole process looked like it had been sponsored by Mr Outspan!

It's personal preference but I would always go with paint providing you get a quality job.
