Where to advertise your volvo?
Hi guys,
I'm selling my 2003 S60 2.0t S and I've placed an advert on autotrader online (and also on this forum in the sales section) but I've only got 1 phone call and the ad has been out over a week. Got loads of canvassing calls but that's about it. It's not overpriced either as it's the cheapest volvo of its years and mileage on autotrader. I only advertised on autotrader online and not in the magazine. Should I have done both? Is it just me that use online sites to look for cars. Perhaps my timing was wrong too, end of august is still holiday season I believe. I was wondering if you could share your experience on how you sold you volvo and where you advertised it Thank you |

I would put it in auto trader mag and put it on ebay as well either as an auction with reserve or a classified ad.

What cumbrian said, plus you're right it's not a great time of year.
Definitely advertise in the paper copy of autotrader as well as on the web, many people still don't feel comfortable using the web so you're cutting off a big source of possible leads if you don't. Have you thought about approaching a local dealer and putting the car on their forecourt on a sale or return basis? If you can be without the car while it's there that can work out quite well, it's what I did last time. They made their dealer margin and I got what I would have got in a private sale with no hassle, everybody happy That said, the 2.0T S is very common there are tons about and the SE is more desirable, on the flip side it's in a great colour and your price looks reasonable. I would say hold your nerve and advertise it for another couple of weeks. Best of luck with the sale. Cheers, John |

Bear in mind that this is the time of year for a new registration issue (September). There will be a greater variety of used vehicles available just now.
