Default S90 Rear Suspension

Ok, I'm confused... I need to know the name of part #2... to me it's a Top Wishbone or Top Control Arm....

I need Parts 1, 3 & 4 as Bush #3 ' had slight play on both side & found during the MOT earlier today, They were only an 'advisory' but needless to say, I'm going to replace bushes 1, 3 & 4 as soon as...

I need to know what the suppliers are calling the Top Arm (Part No 2)... is it a Panhard, Trailing Arm or Control Arm... I'm almost certain it's a Trailing Arm as the parts book list 'front' & 'rear' bushing that look like the bushes I want, but need to make sure before ordering them

Other than these 2 bushes having slight play all went well with the MOT

I think it's technical name is a "Swingy-upper-arm-thingy-ma-bob!"

Sorry, can't help here, IRS-II is FAR more complicated than it really needs to be, the thought of rebuilding it sends a shiver down many a mechanic's spine!

I'm sure someone will be along soon who can help.

Steve

P.S. Let us know ow you get on, as mine could do with a freshen up, could do with finding out if it really is as much of a PITA as everyone seems to make out.

it doesn't look all that bad to do... if I don't identify what the 'upper swingy thingy ma bob' is, ie Trailing Arm or Panhard, I might just order a full set of bushes and drop the whole IRS and do the lot in one go, I don't really want to do that as I believe in 'if it's not broke, don't fix it'.. but there is too much movement in bush #3 for my liking so I need to sort them out

Vadis is a wonderful thing

Volvo calls it a control arm. Part numbers are listed on the right:
