  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default V40 rear fog light not working

Help! My 1999 v40 has just failed it's mot on rear fog light not working! An easy fix I thought! Checked obvious, lamp, fuse etc. Unable to check contiuity as cannot trace wiring. Unable to find wiring diagram, and the switch doesn't make much sense. Has anyone got any clues. Thanks

Did you actually replace/change the bulb.??...and/or check the contacts of the one that's in..and the holder that it sits in.?
It can very often be a simple "corrosion" issue

Thanks Neil, no voltage to holder at all! Just found wiring diagram on line, trying continuity now if that's ok, I'm guessing its something in CEM! getting cold now, can't feel my fingers!!

Fault traced to CEM! Bypassed CEM with new wiring and switch, hey presto. cheaper than replacement CEM.
