Default XC40 Replacement Windscreen spares issue

New to the community first post. Took delivery of our XC40 6 weeks ago, first Saturday out on the road and stone was flung up by oncoming car, chipped the windscreen dead centre near the bottom. Following day the chip had developed into a 12" crack going up the windscreen and veering across passenger side. Insurance put me through to the windscreen company they use who informed me that there was no stock available (B4 Ultimate / acoustic glass with sensors etc) and that it is on back order from Volvo.

Rang them today for an update before going in to have it replaced only to be told it is still not available with no current date for UK stock.

Does anyone out there know when Volvo are likely to have stocks available car is a may 2023 plate so its not a case of it being an old car end of life stock issue.

all volvo dealers are equipped and approved to change windscreens it might be worth getting them to do it, They might reach further than a general winscreen place looking for a cheap non volvo screen... they can get parts from Sweden next day if ordered earlier enough.

Thank you.

I have tried the Volvo Dealership that I use and they confirmed that it is a National shortage and that Volvo in Sweden are expecting a delivery to them before being able to ship elsewhere. The windsrcreen company that the insurance uses is Auto Windscreens, i have tried Autoglass too.
