cool thanks. I'll see if its still leaking in the morning. If it is, im guessing the only way to fix is to fit the replacement rad? I'll get my dad on the case at the weekend if so

Just keep a container of water with you in the car and top up as neccesay. The leak will soon make itself obvious. Leaks only get worse, never better!

Has it gone for its mot yet? Mines going soon! cant wait!

No more leaks on the drive this morning and that was after about 14 hours being parked up, so it seems its ok now

No. My aim was to get all the problems fixed and then have it MOTed. I had a new front part of the exhaust put on the other day for £60 but its still blowing like hell. They said it would take a few days to "bed in" but so far, its still blowing.

Apart from that, all i need is new wipers, and it should be ok for the MOT.

You want to do it the other way round! Get it MOT'd and THEN fix all the problems. You might find there are more things coming out of the MOT. Unless you're one of those people who gets all proud about "my car never failing the MOT" then I'd definitely do it like that, they'll only re-test what fails and you have 14 days to fix anything coming up.

Not any more mate, if you car fails on anything and you drive it off the test centre it's a full retest with full fee being due.
