Default Heated seats problem

In my 1989 760 Turbo, i have a problem with the driver's heated seat. The bit you sit on works ok, but the back rest doesn't heat up at all and quite frankly is a pain in the backside (no punn intended).

Is there any way of checking this or repairing it??

Also the lumbar support doesn't work either, so i can only presume that a previous owner sporting the physique of Fatty John Prescott broke them with his wide load??

Any tips or ideas?

Many thanks -

Jono

Interesting, Whilst i cant contribute a fix to this thread, i have the same problem, but mine is opposite to yours. The backrest bit heats up ok but the bit you sit on doesnt

LOL - what a chore!!
At least my ass is warm!!
Must be a common fault. I can only presume that the only way to fix it is to take the leather off? (something im certainly not going to do!)

It doesnt bother me too much as on the cold winter mornings, i'll always warm the car up first

It may be easier to buy a whole new seat to fix both maladies...

If your car has black leather, there is currently a 740GLE on the eBay being broken with black leather seats, item number 4627987280

Fact: I bought The Volvo from the seller, who is none other than Peter Simpson, editor of Car Mechanics magazine

Used to get it about 10 years ago - awesome read.

Never mind - it was just a thought.

Same colour as my seats, but I have plush as opposed to leather

Car Mechanics is very much with us and still as good as ever

Agree with comment on Car Mechanics. I have bought Car Mechanics since I was 9 years old. It is probable why I am so interested in cars, even though I ended working on aircraft.

Plush is cloth, but far from nasty
