Default Exhaust rubber O-ring things on 460

Not sure if that's what they're called - I mean the rubber things that attach to the exhaust about half-way along, one each side, that stop it flopping about. My favourite exhaust garage replaced these for me fairly recently when they did the exhaust. They used small round rubber rings but one keeps on snapping - I keep finding one under where I park the car overnight. I go back to the shop and they willingly replace the ring at no cost but this has now happened 3 times in a few months. Quite honestly, I think the one side is under far too much tension - I watch them replacing it and they have to use a tool to prise it on. I think it's snapping, either when I turn the engine on or off. Any idea where I can get one that will fit better - maybe an oval shape rather than round?

There must be a fitment issue, have you challenged them as to why it keeps happening?

I think its wrong exhaust shape personally. I would also look into polymer exhaust hangars. Tough as anything.

They only changed the back part of the exhaust so the hangers didn't need replacing. I guess possibly the new back box is a different shape so they needed the hangers to adjust the position. It's quite obvious that the circular hangers are under too much tension. I'll have to see if they have different shapes.

Hi
I also have this problem.
Those rubbers wont last more than 1 year.
Not sure about my memory, but it's possible that those rubber rings originally needs another piece between them and the chassis.

there are several different shapes and sizes of these rings on the market - for several different applications. You need something which is specific to the 400 series - they will fit and last. If you don't have an original one to measure, then the best bet is to get a pair from a Volvo dealer. A small cost even though they will be dearer than a general accessory shop,
