I also downloaded it. Easy and quick install by OTA.

Update on mine, it’s now on its 3rd go at downloading, got to about 67% install this time before starting another download. Hope it’s 3rd time lucky, never had this problem before.

Well car went for service yesterday and had its software update and from what I can see no impact on the map I installed last week so all good.
I installed the whole of Europe via USB but also try and keep up to date using tethering to my mobile when driving.

Surely if you are not planning to drive to Hungary or Turkey Italy etc there is no need to download the maps for these countries.
I only update the maps for other countries when I know that I am planning to drive to them. I am slightly resentful that our region includes Iceland, however the road network there is not large so not too much data to process. Given that it takes about 2 hours or so to get to Dover from where I live, I could update the maps of the countries I would be visiting while driving to the port (apart from the French map - why cannot Volvo split the French map into two or three sections so that it can be easily downloaded over the air).

As a side issue to this thread, there is an October 2020 voice control software update available to download from the Volvo website. I did mine last week but as usual there is no way of identifying what's been updated!
I initially used a USB stick which I'd wiped clean and downloaded the voice update, popped it into the USB port in my V90, a question popped up "would you like to update voice?", clicked yes and after a few seconds got an "unnable to read USB" message! Now I'd always used this particular USB for Volvo map updates prior to utilising the OTA facility a couple of years ago and it always worked OK. I wiped it clean again, tried again, same problem (twice). The annoying thing is that the car had now lost all voice control for the usual commands so the original software must have been deleted or deactivated within sensus? Fearing a visit to the dealer, I tried a different USBand luckily all worked perfectly and the software installed OK (phew!). What I'd forgotten was that 12 months ago I used that original USB stick to download and update the maps on my wife's Toyota Auris and on checking the USB in detail I found a small discrepancy in available data space compared to the actual USB size? I can only assume that a fragment of Toyota data remained on the stick and the Volvo system didn't like it! Anyway, this proves that only completely empty USB's must be used to update Volvo systems and if someone has any idea what updates are now integrated into voice control, I'd like to know!

Can the voice control software be updated over the air also or does it require a USB stick update?
