Default 2020 V90 D5 - any thoughts?

Dealer offered a tempting price on a V90 D5 Inscription Plus, nearly fully loaded, in exchange for my V60.

I was thinking of holding out for one with the B&O sound system as I'm not in any rush to swap, but in general is the D5 any good?

It's the AWD version. Have read some stuff on here about PowerPulse issues. Is it noticeably bigger to drive / park?

Yes it's considerably bigger. PowerPulse issues are common as you already know. If you're not in a hurry to swap, don't do it. Take your time. D4 is the best choice. You want a little bit of extra power? D4 with Polestar optimisation. Good performance with good consumptions. Of course D5 is quicker but what for? My opinion of course.

Driving and parking are no issue with the camera pack which I assume you'll get. The engine is good, though a polestarrred D4 is a good option. A polestarred D5 is :-) I have had mine 3 1/2 years now and love it. The power pulse hose has popped three times and fixed under warranty. The last fix seems to have sorted it. I would imagine once out of warranty a decent hose company could knock up a superior replacement easily enough.
I had a V60 courtesy car and really couldn't notice any difference in the driving, I think it is marginally smaller width wise and about 6" shorter.

I have a V60, our son in law a V90. He is tempted to change to a V60 as the V90 is a bit too big.

Is it noticeably bigger to drive / park?..................

It is obviously a bit bigger than the V60, and you have to be a little more spatially aware, but its something you soon get used to.
If the dealer is keen to sell the V90 to you, ask him if you can test drive it for a day.

I personally don't need a big car, but I love it.

I have a V90 and a neighbour runs a V60, to be honest there is very little difference in the size of both models. Regarding the powerpulse issue I had one pop on me about nine months ago, fixed under warranty with an improved (allegedly) pipe. Touch wood, no problems since, and I can get a bit enthusiastic with the loud pedal at times. Personally I'd go for the offer but at the end of the day it's your call, see about a test drive to see if you find the size of the car an issue.

On the odd occasion I have a courtesy car it's normally either a V/XC90 or V/XC60. I find myself walking around it trying to spot a badge so as I know which.

Deals are good on most Volvo diesels, the dealers and Volvo want rid, no one is buying diesels so still shop around and maybe try Carwow or drive the deal for a price. Dont assume what you have been offered is the best out there. My brother got an absolutely stonking deal on a pre reg XC60 diesel last month after pushing the dealer.

Well, I went for it. Noticeably more comfortable than my V60 Momentum (even though it's on 20 inch wheels) and since I didn't prang it when slotting it back into its space at the dealer I'm OK with the size.

The get-up-and-go from a slow or standing start with PowerPulse and AWD is much better than my D4. There's none of the discussion between the engine and gearbox about who's going to do the work and the 4WD catapults it straight out and up to speed.

Pretty happy with the price - decent deposit contribution and a wedge off the list price, and it still has half a tank of fuel in it and the load protector in the boot. List price wasn't too bad either.

Interestingly the group has offered an additional 500 pounds cash or an OLED TV, my choice.

Enjoy the V90.

The only thing I would change on mine would be the 20" wheels.
