From my experience I think it sounds like injector knock, tho I have listened to it via some crappy speakers 😂 it’s what I would be trying.

You will get faults for unplugging them when it’s running but if it’s injector related the noise will disappear on that cylinder. You won’t cause any harm. It’s just a thought. I wouldn’t run it for long as injector knock can cause physical engine damage quickly if this is the case. If that’s not your issue then you most certainly going to taking the top off for a look in. Could be a broken follower, valve spring anything like that ect.

Ok. Basically if I unplug the 2nd injector from the oil filler cap the engine starts and loud knocking disappears.
It still smokes a bit but nothing like it was. That is with it unplugged
Obviously it does a little rough on 4 cylinder s.
What to order for a replacement injector.
I will get a seal kit toPXL_20230101_145302217.jpgo.

I know it's a class 2 injector.
What other number do I have to match?

You will need an injector with the Same Bosch number but if your getting your parts through a diesel specialist etc they should ensure the replacement is the correct. Most reman injectors come with a new clamp, locking spring and copper washer already installed. When I last fit an injector to one of these I used a reman one from a diesel firm and it cost about £100.

As you have the euro 3 engine you really are plug and play. As it’s the class system and your only changing one injector no coding is required nor does the injector need to be of the same class

Hopefully the injector should remove fairly easily they normally do unless they have been leaking/blowing.

Easy to remove injector. I left a bit of diesel in the injector well for 2 days to help any possible seizures. Came out so easy .
I can't see any holes in the nozzle.
Now waiting for refurbished one to turn up.

Lets hope that's all it is and remember it could've been worse if it was something that needed the head off, hope it flows for you.

This may help
