If you have the SC-7nn, SC-8nn or SC-9nn type head unit installed you could source a suitable Volvo 6-CD changer unit from eBay (£40 or less could get one). You may have the required wiring already installed in your car. Check behind the head unit for a spare 8-pin round din cable connector (small connector with pins running across in 3-3-2 formation) and also in the rear wheel wells (under the trim on the wheel arch) for the opposite end of the cable. There should also be a power supply cable for the changer unit visible at the rear end of the cable (if present). If the cable is not already installed, eBay again is a good source for this (£10 ish) or the dealers (£30 ish I think). If you need to install the cable it normally runs over the wheel arch, down the C-pillar, along the sill and up at the A-pillar over to the centre console.

If you need an after market changer (and if you have one of the above head units) then the Alpine CHM-S6nn series is the one you need. This will also require a separate cable (even if there is a Volvo cable present) as this cable also carries the power to the changer unit. You will require a VolAlp type adaptor to connect the Alpine cable to the head unit (it also does some decoding of signals). This adaptor (sadly) costs about £60 new but can be got from eBay for much less. You could find a new changer with the adaptor for about £130 on eBay.

The Volvo SC-nnn units are made by Alpine but badged for Volvo.
