V60 R-Design Real MPG
Hi,
I would be very grateful if somebody would be able to help me please. I am currently looking to buy a V60 R-Design 2.0l diesel 163bhp 2012/13 pre facelift. I was looking to buy a manual or automatic but am a bit concerned about the official mpg of the automatic model (combined 49.6mpg) which is obviously less in the real world. Just woundered if anybody could give me some more accurate mpg figures of the manual & the automatic in the real world. Many thanks Russell |

On my mixed commute of A roads and motorways, a 26 mile round trip, I average about 46MPG. On extended longer runs it is early to mid fifties. September 2011 163bhp D3 manual R-Design.

I've got a mapped 163bhp 2011 2lt 5 cyl D3 and I get 45mpg average urban and on long runs 55-58mpg ave indicated on the dash. Usually get around 750 miles to a full tank.
If I rag it consistently the ave is more like 38mpg over that period. |

My MPG is as per signature, 90% 80kph highway with a handful of stop/start intersections. I have a 2.4L D5 so you should be able to beat my figures in the same conditions. Steady state highway usage is as good as 55mpg. The trip computer has been pretty close to the brim to brim calculations.

To my knowledge the manual should be more efficient around town (no torque converter) but the Automatic might be more efficient on the highway as I believe the final ratio is a bit longer (RPM is lower).
This might help a bit in deciding, but I would take the results with a grain of salt. http://www.fuelly.com/car/volvo/v60 |
