D5 185 polestar boost pressure?
Hi all,
Does anyone know how much peak boost a Polestar D5 185 (205bhp map) should produce. Im having problems with my car, and at its peak its producing around 2700hPa (>25psi) boost. Area highlighted in red is where I have a reduction in power and DTCs for MAF and Ho2S are set. This seems high, but im not 100% sure what a remapped car should be producing. Anyone with knowledge? Thanks.

Hi, I have vida, and a shark remap which I can switch back to standard 185. I could run the test both ways and give you the plots.
Might help? or give some clue's? Only trouble is don't have a lot of time to spend on Vida so its fair to say bit of a novice! PM me with how you run the parameters for engine etc and I'll give it a go if you feel it would be useful. Regards

Hi folks,
Thanks for the replies.... Coincidental timing as Polestar actually emailed me back yesterday, albeit with a completely useless answer... "It might be producing a bit too much boost, it might not - take it to the dealer" ! Great, definitely worth the wait. My IC was blown, so i replaced that and its running nicely again. Thanks for the offer with the comparison maps, not needed in my case but I'm sure others might find it interesting to see, if you ever get the time. Cheers

Out of interest, did the intercooler blow as a result of the re-map or was it damaged in some other way? Heard the D5 intercooler can be a bit weak.

I have a 2008 C70 D5 with an MTE remap to a claimed 225bhp. Attached graph below shows my MAP and desired boost pressures on a graph.
As you can see mine seems to peak at a similar level to yours, 2700hPa or so. This would suggest that level of boost is normal for a remapped car, but I'd love to see a graph from a stock D5 to see what it does. 25PSI is not particularly high for a modern diesel engine (although it'd be a lot of boost for a petrol), I'm sure up to 30psi is not at all unusual.
