Depending on the mileage you should sail through. 1.9D is almost clockwork predictable in the timing of things failing.

Let's hope so, with my last 1.9D they always found a broken coil spring...

Cheap to replace the legs though when they do go I paid about £40 a side from Huddersfield breakers, and about £50 labour to fit them. Took the opportunity to upgrade to sport legs -- that was a great idea.

Yay! Passed - 1 advisory (offside front top suspension strut mount is slightly seized) Mind you, he told me that it only seemed slightly seized when the body of the car was jacked up, and was fine when it wasn't so I think I'll leave it unless it gets worse. Current mileage: 109775

Ever since my old Vera clicked over to 150K the other week, the interior has fallen to pieces. Head lining has sagged on the sunroof shade, cruise control switch has broken, and today I removed the drivers seat belt stalk because the button literally shattered the other day. And it turns out phase 1 V40 seat belt stalks are like hens teeth!

She'll live on though.

Hens teeth are on ebay at the moment - £8- £30 each.

I actually just searched for hens teeth and got some odd results!

I've ordered one of the many phase 2 seat belt stalks available and hope I can just cut and swap the different seat belt warning connectors over.

I know I could just leave the seat belt reminder disconnected, since I have no trouble remembering to put my belt on. But I like it being there. It's a nice re-assuring Volvo thing.

Ordered a new fog light to replace the one taken out the other day by a suicidal pheasant. Also ordered two new central locking fobs as the present ones are falling apart. I have now got a replacement nearside door mirrors with a cover that needs painted to match the car.
Will have to talk to the local paint repair guy and get him to paint the rear bumber and the mirror cover at the same time.

New S40 T4 got delayed and should be here Tuesday instead.

Plenty of time to let the weather warm up before I see about stripping it apart.

Took the old girl to Lochmaben in Dumfries and Galloway on Thursday evening for a day fishing for the huge Grayling on the beautiful river Annan on Friday, had a great time and returned early evening.
Round trip of 440 miles, she sat there at 80 for most of the way (M6 roadworks in Cheshire at 50) never missed a beat and returned 30.4 mpg in total comfort.
And I was worried she might fail me! She deserves a good wash and polish for me doubting her... needs one too!
