Default P1800S tyres

Most of the posts on this subject are long in the tooth.
Iam am looking around at tyre options for my 15 in x 5in wheel rims, and I would like to keep appearance to look fairly standard. I am not looking for extra width.
The tyres that I have shortlisted in the size 165.80R15 are
Vredestein Sprint Classic
Pirelli Cinturato CA67
Michelin XZX
Nankang Retro Classic (this one I have not found independent reviews).

I realise there is a quite wide spread of pricing.
Would anyone like to comment on experience of these...

What are you wanting from the tyre? Know it sounds crazy but certain things are really important to different folk. Will be some good proper reviews out there.

I see you are going for retro style tyres as opposed to a modern tread pattern. On my 142 I fitted Maxxis Mecotra 3 tyres, reasonably good independent reviews compared to alternatives and they have a look between modern and retro with the rounded edges but modern tread pattern. The Vredestein ones I was originally going to go for were out of stock at the time and the Maxxis have performed really well so far. They aren't expensive so wasn't worried if I wanted to change them.

Hi Groundes-Peace,
I put the Michelin XZX on my '68 1800S 18months ago and I very happy with both the look and the drive. Got mine from Dougal at Longstone and got them fitted locally for £50!

Thanks for responses so far.
I knew nothing about the Maxxis Mecotra3 tyre, and these are a low cost option at around £45 per corner.
The Michelin XZX sounds good; yes they are at the premium end but that said Longstone are offering these currently at £111 per tyre for a set.
Any other thoughts out there?

The Vredestein’s I thought were the most popular choice. Pretty sure there was a guy from the US a little while back who races (I think) rated these. I think the Michelin’s are a old design so not sure how their performance compares.
