XC60 D5 AWD 2009 Spend history - About to replace
Hi Folks,
I wanted to share the spend that I have had on my 185k Volvo XC60 as I am about to replace it with another Volvo XC60. As you can see i have had the: DPF fault Radiator replaced (I don't think this was a Volvo issue, probably a stone caused it) Horn replaced Temperature sensor replaced Coil spring replaced Battery replaced, although that was the original, it lasted for a long time!, Steering lock replaced, that was interesting as it filed whilst on holiday in Poland and so Volvo assist was a god send! Both mirrors replaced as they didn't lock when opening, that wasn't cheap, although I had the newest mirrors of all of the cars in the Volvo garage on that day! Please note that all work was carried out at Volvo, total spend excluding the car over nearly 8 years of amazing experiences was £7,189 over 130k miles!

About £2,200 over the period of ownership for actual failed parts, other items are normal wear and tare and servicing and running costs. (£275 a year)

So how come the winter tyres in 2012 cost exactly the same as the summer tyres in 2018? And how on earth do you get 4 winter tyres for 275 quid?
And just 2 sets of tyres in 130k miles? Even if the car had brand spanking tyres when bought and then returned with slicks, this is still 45k miles per set...... Also, think how much could have been saved on tyre swapping if you had bought a second set of rims......
