Default Reading Codes

So got a interesting problem with my 2005 D5. I get a You have 1 message, on pressing the read button the display goes blank and the amber triangle lights up. Any other messages can be read Low washer fluid, door open etc, Vida shows a few faults Internal air sensor not reading, alarm faults. So I can't pinpoint what the mystery fault is. I did hear that with the fault showing (or not in my case) and the amber triangle lit there is a way to find what it is by pressing the read and trip reset in a specific order.
Any suggestions ?

Regards, Paul.

Did the above method and didn't show any codes.
Got a PM suggesting to hold the read button and trip reset for 10 seconds did this a bleep occurred and code 052 appeared. Looked this up and showed a alarm fault. So after further tinkering it turns out to a defective siren unit which by all accounts is a common problem on older cars. Siren kit duly ordered.

So the only reason I can think that the "Alarm Service Required" is not displayed is that it has somehow been mapped out, I'd also previously found that the triangle amber and red warning lights were not working, this was due to a a piece of cut foam being put over the lights in the instrument housing ! No doubt by a previous owner when selling !!
