XC90 2.5T remap
Hi all,
I have a 05 automatic model with about 96k miles so far. No performance related mods. Drives well, comfortable and still v pleased with it. I had it for almost 2 years - MOT and service is up in a couple of months time. I did not buy it for performance, but wouldn't mind having something extra on tap if required. I have done some researches and have read a few threads about various remap/remap tuners/offers etc. I read Celtic Tuning quite a few times and I went to their website and got an idea of the stage 1 remap output - looks interesting. Requested a quote and it came back to be 295 pounds and they'd come to me. It seems to be reasonable, but not able to have pre and post dyne run makes me bit nervous. They do offer 14-day full refund if it is not what I wanted though... Being a Stage 1 remap, what do you think of the pre and post dyne run? is it a must or a real street experience more important? Should i wait until the MOT and service are done then the remap? Obviously I'd need to check with the insurance to make sure it is cozy/worthwhile. I have also visited a website and made contact via the website, but have not received a response... can't remember which one it was though.... lol I know the XC90 is a barge - so should i bother with a remap? Your thoughts? Thanks. EDIT: sorry, it is the 2.5T model Last edited by esm; Feb 25th, 2020 at 14:42. |

Do you mean that you have the T6? Or the 2.5T? There is no T5 XC90 until the second generation.
If it's the former, I think that more torque through the gearbox and faster takeoff times are probably the very last thing you want, given the now well understood weakness of the GM gearbox fitted to that model.

It is the 2.5T model (not the T6 version, as I am aware of the potential GM gearbox issue). I have edited the thread to reflect. |

Unless you're especially attached to that particular vehicle, the later D5's have 400/420NM at much lower revs, and are quite grunty on the open road straight out the box.

I do miss the torque and fuel economy of a diesel though. Lol |

@esm - did you end up getting a remap? I'm about to take delivery of manual 2.5T XC90 and am contemplating a remap... Polestar sounds great but it's a lot of money
