The fact that I no longer trust the damn thing. At 93,000 a well maintained car should be realiable. My car isn't. Too many electrical issues, in fact as soon as I fix it, I'm selling her and buying another pick-up truck. On the positive note, the acceleration and handling are a dream. When it works. |

What specifically has gone wrong with it? I'd say that's very much atypical of the 850 / 70 series. Mine has had a few minor mechanical problems (PAS pump failure aside...just expected maintenance stuff like split CV gaiters), but electrical problems (antenna ring for the immobiliser aside) are pretty rare.
cheers James

My 944 turbo.
1) The black bodywork gets dirty very quickly 2) It picks up dents easily (thanks shoppers) 3) Its expensive to run (but thats Volvos I guess 4) It handles like the Tirpitz.

Volvo C30 R Design Sport
Firstly - Volvo UK Customer Service - Pathetic
Secondly - Alloy Wheels on a Brand New Vehicle Stuck to Hubs Third - Engine Download & Stereo Download required on Vehicle that is only 5 months old....pathetic. I won't be buying another Volvo and would not advise anyone else to buy one either....watch out for more posts.... |

Comparing V70 Platform I (97 2.5V20 SE) and V70 Platform II (06 D5 AWD SE):
1. Tyres are too fat - 225/45 - unfortunately general trend 2. Turning circle 3. Thick A-pillar with huge blind spot forward right 4. Reduction in number of storage spaces despite massive thick doors 5. Everything is software / computer controlled and thus Volvo only and 6. Rise in repair bills PI to PII 7. Relatively poor fuel consumption Just driving a courtessy S60 2.0T 2003: 1. Fat tyres - Pirelli Nero very, very noisy 2. Hard ride 3. Poor visibilty front (A-pillar) and rear 4. Very sluggish response of 2.0Turbo mated with automatic |

135bhp is soon fixed using the wastegate actuator off an HPT
The electronics aren't bad on 940s...pound for pound, they're a fair bit more fuel efficient than the CIS stuff. I do have a kinda phobia of K-Jet, though cheers James

I keep my p1 V70 T5 well waxed and when it rains all the water sits in beads on the roof, waiting for me to open either front window, its at this point all the water pours straight in off the roof all over my electric window switches! Very annoying!!
