Default Starting issue XC60 B4!

My wife's XC60 has developed an interesting 'foible'. Every now and again when you try to start it the dials do their usual sweep but nothing else happens. No sound from the starter motor or anything. If you lock the car for two minutes it then behaves as it should. It can't be the battery as we did 1100 miles on a driving mini break last week. I even put the key in the cup holder in case it was a transmitter/receiver issue but that had no effect. I really don't want to be applying the I.T Crowd solution everytime it decides to throw a hissy fit. The car is a 2019 XC60 B4 Momentum

Any advice would be welcome, thank you

How hard is she pushing the brake? My V60 needs a decent amount of force to activate the switch if it's been stood for a couple of days.

I was practically standing on the brake pedal!

When I don't push the brake pedal of our XC90 hard enough, nothing at all happens.
This doesn't seems to be the case here since the dials work as usual.

Everything looks like the car wants to start but nothing happens!

Isn't the B4 a hybrid? does it drive if you press the accelerator?

No, it behaves just like a normal diesel albeit with less lag.

Thanks for the update - I thought that Volvo was going to have only hybrid models from 2020 - does that B4 really count as a hybrid if the vehicle cannot be driven only on electric power?
