Default Squeaky fan

Anyone else suffering from this....ive a 740 and 940 and both squeak to different tune. The 740 woke my son up in alarming fashion the other day and he was not impressed.

Any known fixes on here?

Thanks.

Ear plugs for your son?

Joking aside, i'm guessing you mean the heater fan? Air con or not on both vehicles? The answer is to lube the fan motor bearings but two different procedures may apply to remove the fan/motor assembly.

In my case it was just leaves. I thought it might be a knackered motor bearing, but on inspection it was just leaves and easy to sort.

For my non-AC 1995 car, you just have to remove the skuttle panel between the windscreen and bonnet. Pretty easy to do, just remember there is a middle bolt. The wiper motor cover needed peeled off the tarry sticky substance.

.... you might need a small hub puller to get the wiper boss off to avoid damage to the paintwork and, never detach the back bonnet rubber seal from the scuttle panel. Bob
