XC90 delivery
Hi,
I'm new here. My last two cars have been Volvos. V70 has been my model. I'm now buying a new XC90 (T8). I ordered the car in May, with an end of August delivery date. This has continued to slip. I have now nailed down a delivery date of mid-November (although seeing as it still hasn't been put on the production line, I'm not sure how nailed on it is!). What compensation/extras should I be looking to get from my dealer? Thank you in advance. |

If it isn't, why should they compensate you?

Well, the dealer told me delivery date was August, then September, then October, now November.
If they didn't know, they didn't need to tell me any date. |

The dealer can only go on the information that is given by the factory. And that is what he is doing.
It's not the dealer's fault that the delivery date is slipping.

The dealer's probably as unhappy about this as you are - they won't be able to express any profit, or even get paid, until the car is available. They might even be having to stand by a valuation on a depreciating trade in....
Unless this delay is in any way down to them, I'd give them a bit of a break! |

Cancel the order and buy an x5.
It's what a mate did when volvo dealer would do nothing to help him when his xc90 got written off and they were talking 12 week delivery for the new one. In comparison the BMW dealer bent over backwards to help him out, selling him an x5 trade in on an agreed buyback price the moment his new car was available. Too many dealers think your loyalty is theirs by rite and doesnot have to be earned. Paul. |
