My dealer suggests it will. Hmmmm!
Dash is totally different, switchgear is all the same, but other parts like door release handles in the 90 series are different. Carpet will be the same but a different shape. To be honest, most salesmen know sod all about the product these days.

No surprise that the dealer has said this, after all he wants to sell you a car in which he knows you are interested.

Depends what you mean by 'essentially feel like'. Both interiors are similar in configuration and you will be sitting on the same seats. As has been said, dashboard and details like door handles are different. Some of the materials used will be different and perhaps not quite as 'premium' in the V60 interior.

Also from memory the *60 T8/PE have a higher standard of trim that the rest of the 60s.

More “leather” round the central tunnel etc.

Thanks all - now I've actually had half an hour to go through things and look at the quotes from Volvo Virtual Sales, it seems like the V90 is much better value on a lease; I guess higher residuals at the end of it? The prices for similarly equipped cars are slightly less for the V90 and I get all that space which occasionally will come in handy and, it seems, a slightly plusher interior.

If I'm doing 25k a year, and I have a choice of petrol or diesel, and I'm not bothered about 0-60, I'd be stupid not to go for the diesel I guess? Why are both engines called B4 though?

In the end, I've ordered another V90 (B4 diesel, Momentum with a few extras added). It made far more sense and I don't have any worries about anything being a downgrade or me missing the space. Also, I'll be able to carry on using my winter tyres which will save me £600 come November. The one thing my current car has which my new one won't is the adaptive shadow technology headlamps, but I'm actually pleased because I'm frequently flashed while using them and despite being checked twice by the dealer, they still prove annoying to others to the extent that I've stopped using it. Hopefully the simpler auto-dim version I'll be getting will prove less irritating.

My wife has decided to forgo another Qashqai and try a XC40, so we'll be a real Volvo family.

B identifies it as a mild Hybrid, the B4D (dieseil) and B4P (petrol) are mild hybrid engines, they have a small battery that recharges during braking (KERS) this boosts output and adds to economy a little. Replacing power pulse.
