How easy is this to do? I'm fairly competent but only have ramps and would have to work outside. not much fun in this weather.

Not Too Sure On A V60 And Ideally It Needs To Be Done With A Pressure Bleeder

Wanted to finish this tale now everything is sorted.

Turns out there was a fluid leak at the root cause. The leak was hard to find as the tray under the car is made of a material that 'absorbs' the fluid. When the mechanic took the tray off and stood it on its side overnight, there was a puddle of fluid on the floor. The leak was where the pipe enters the slave, somehow the o ring was not sealing.

So all that grief for a leak. So be warned, not all leaking fluids end up on your driveway!

Hi Grimble,
Can you remember if it's possible to replace the o-ring without dismantling everything (other than removing the undertray)?
Thanks

Default Clutch fluid bleeding

On my XC60 D3, I vacuum bled the fluid using a large syringe and flexible tube. With the clutch pedal in the fully up position. Only gently tighten the plastic bleed nipple as it is fragile. Should be done when the brake fluid is changed.

There is a squeeze and push fit (quick release) pipe connector at the top of the gearbox leading to the clutch slave cylinder in the gearbox. The pipe connector is just below and to the left of the main battery box. I don't know if there is a spare O ring seal available, I'd have to check in Vida. It may just need to be cleaned and resealed, then fluid bled. Tis the same fluid as from the brake fluid reservoir.

Ah ok. I can see the pipe coming forwards, over the gearbox and to the slave cylinder area and see the quick release clip here. Is the other end near the battery box then or does the pipe from the slave cylinder run all the way along the scuttle to the master cylinder?
