  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

The mechanic/garage that quoted you £700+ for an EGR replacement doesn't have a clue what he/they are talking about. Definitely stay clear of there anyway... I think that ridiculous figure was plucked out of thin air.

As mentioned in my earlier post. It sounds like it's the very same garage I bought an OEM/genuine replacement EGR from for about £200-250 and replaced myself in 20 minutes. Further 20mins to get my VIDA/DICE plugged in and calibrate the new one. Hardly worth £700+.

isnt it supposed to be hard to do on a D5 though?

Changing the EGR valve is a doddle for anyone that is mechanically minded, nevermind a garage!
