Default Belt service.

I usually use genuine Volvo parts on my Mk1 V70 however being on a pension money is tight at the moment. Have any of you used and can recommend the following pattern parts.

Circoli water pump, Dayco serpentine belt, Ina drive belt tensioner, Conti Tech Timing belt kit. Total prices with good discount £211.55 pluss free post.

Genuine Volvo parts as above. £297 plus £9.50 postage. ( That does include new fixings).

Faulse economy or a bargain what's the verdict?

I've used Circoli thermostat without problem, Dayco belts seem to be okay as well, IMO
Remember Volvo don't actually make these parts themselves so you could just be paying for the name.
If you're looking for parts, Eurocarparts often have a discount code on their website, can save quite a bit and PFS Parts are usually quite good prices, better than main dealers anyway.

If it is of interest BuyCarParts (https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/ )currently have discounts of up to 23% so a GATES Water Pump & Timing Belt Set which includes the tensioner is currently £73 and the Gates serpentine belt around £17 for your V70 - they also keep the idler wheels.

& ( https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/volvo/...ort_categories[]=305&rp=1&sort_categories[]=542 )

Which means they comes in at just under £100 delivered for genuine Gates belts and parts.

On my old 850 I got an SKF kit inc water pump. EVerything was exactly the same as the OE stuff I took off. Same part numbers etc. Only difference was the SKF stuff wasn't marked 'Volvo'.
Even in the SKF kit one of the pulleys was an INA, again same as I removed.
Can only assume that SKF make the parts for Volvo?
I got the kit from Parts for Volvo .
