Yes, I believe this is the "proper" system which first evacuates all the lines and "measures" the amount of refrigerant before renewing both the refrigerant and compressor oil. You should be able to have an A/C "performance test" beforehand to see just how good / bad the A/C system is.

Rang them this morning so I'm booked for a laser wheel alignment. They say the day's going to run from around 10 to 3.

I cannot emphasise this enough; please do call MRG to "book" any work which you plan to have done, other than just quickly getting the car on a ramp and spending a few minutes looking at it. However, despite "booking" the car in, it will still be run on a first come first served basis on the day so anyone wishing for work to be done will still need to arrive them promptly and get your name down on the 'list', which will be held by the Service Manager at MRG on the day.

The level of support which MRG is giving the VOC, on the day, is unprecedented, and I certainly cannot think of any Volvo dealership having offered the same to any forum within the UK in recent years; so there is bound to be a lot of interest and anyone is welcome. However, given the time constraints, it is possible that not everyone who is "booked in" may actually get the desired work done and I would ask for your understanding if that was indeed to happen.

If anyone is keen to test drive any car from the Volvo range, please call MRG and speak to Daniel Phillips, the sales manager, to make the necessary arrangements as you will need to produce some documentation on the day, prior to the test drive, and Daniel will be able to tell you precisely what you will need and also what cars they currently have on their fleet, available for test drives.

Well, I'll be there, but it's going to be a hellishly early start for me. It's about 200 miles away :wideeyed: so I'll be the one walking around like a zombie. Does anyone have a fold-up bed they can lend me???

Default Directions

Just thought I'd post up some directions for those coming for the meet, from the M4.

Exit at Junction 17, A350 towards Chippenham. At the end of the dual carriageway, it becomes single file. At the 1st roundabout (there is an ESSO station and Premier Inn here), take the second exit, i.e. stay on the A350. Go straight on at the next 4 roundabouts, again staying on the A350 throughout. At the next roundabout (so 6th overall), you will see a McDonald's restaurant on your left. Take the second exit (A4 towards Calne / "City Centre"). Immediately past the traffic light, you will come to another roundabout - take the 3rd exit (for Methuen Park). At the next mini-roundabout, take the first exit and follow that road right up to the end and MRG are on the left, just before the VW Service Centre.
