Nicely done. What do you do for a day job?
You've shown that the bolt won't shear if it were loose. Now you need to confirm that a 8.8 can provide enough clamping load to prevent the caliper moving when done up correctly. And what is the recomended tightening torque for these bolts anyway? |

Thanks. In pointing out that I've accounted for loading in shear but not in tension you've revealed me as a lowly electrical engineer rather than a "proper" mechanical engineer :-)

90-110nm torque for front calipers
52-64nm torque for the rear Thanks leftfootleashed -email coming now. I just had Irwin bolt extractors arrive! |
