Yes i mentioned the cam lobes being out of position if they go around on the shaft when the keyway breaks when valves hit pistons . see my post #40 above 12 days ago

But the Key way for the Cam belt sprocket was ok, it was the Chain Sprocket on the exhaust side which had moved on the shaft. There is no key way for the chain sprocket, it is heated and placed on the shaft. No key way , no pin, nothing to hold it at all. There is no way of knowing if a chain sprocket has moved unless you have another good cam shaft.
If you had said from my pictures the cams were wrong I could understand but nobody did.

ahh right i see , well on the D5 the individual lobes are pressed onto the shaft and can move when valves hit pistons and even a very small movement will greatly upset the engine and it is not really noticeable visually are your cam lobes cast as part of the camshaft then ?
