Default C30 stutter

Hi all,

I have 2008 1.6D C30 with 94,000 miles.

I've started to get a couple of stutters from the engine on the motorway. Last 1-2 seconds. Feels like I lose a little bit of power for a split second.

I previously had a similar issue with a 1.4D Ford Fiesta, which seemed to be injector related.

I was just wondering whether you think injectors are responsible, or if anybody knew of other common causes of this type of fault?

(A couple of things which may or may not be related: black smoke occassionally comes from the exhaust, if I accelerate hard. An occassion squeaking noise from the engine bay. Also, I think the car might be slightly more sluggish nowadays).

Thanks,
JP

You've just passed the recommended mileage for the DPF to be replaced.

5 geared 1.6D yes?

Could be that?

Thanks for your responses!

Yes, it is a 5 geared 1.6D.

For the DPF...
It hasn't been replaced on my car. When I got it 18months ago, my cruise control wouldn't always work. I found discussions online that it could be linked to the DPF. After a service, and a few blasts up the motorway, it has been fine since. I do mostly motorway miles, so hopefully it should keep it healthy?

For the fuel filter...
It was changed recently (at roughly 91K).

I had a look under the engine cover yesterday. I have quite a bit of oil at the base of injector 2 (I'll try and post a picture tomorrow). Not sure if this could be related?

Some photos...
1. Highlighted oil leaks
2. Oil to the right of injector 4. I believe the black pipe in the intake manifold?
3. Oil at the base of injector 2
4. Example of clean injector 4
