Default Drivers seat removal

Chaps

Am I correct in thinking disconnecting the battery is sufficient to prevent any airbag etc issues

Recently acquired underseat amp neeeds checking, got the leads off but no way can I get them back on !

Congrats to the kretin who designed the wiring - 2 inches longer and 10 extra pence spent on each car and the task would be a dream. The car industry never ceases to amaze me with its stupidity - and greed

Depends on the model year. Earlier cars (with a throttle cable) will have a manual trigger on the side of the seat. If you lift off the plastic side cover there will be a red key housed on the inside of the cover that you can slide into the trigger to stop it accidently activating while you are working on the seat.
Later ETM cars have an electronic trigger (they have an orange coloured cable under the seat) where you should disconnect the battery, wait 10 mins before unplugging but be prepared anyway to have someone clear a fault code.

Thanks Andrew

She is defo a 98 with throttle cable, other commitments stopped me doing anything beyond moving the seat ( electric ) fully forward which in turn led he to the conclusion I could not remove the forward bolts with her resting in that position !
