Default Electric mirrors

Hi All

Back in the Volvo food with my 8th one. I’m sure this must of been asked before and I did look but cannot see. I just brought a 2011 D5 200 Exec 1 owner FSH. Question is is it possible to have the Mirrors fold with the remote?

Also is it worth getting VOC? As in what do you get with it. Online stuff seems a little vague.

Thanks

Hi Heavy11, welcome back to the fold

To get folding mirrors, other than with the internal switch, you will need a Canbus Function Extender (CFE) or similar.

This will give you loads of other optional features too.

https://www.vivaperformance.com/canb...nder-plus-cfe/

Used to be available direct from Volvo Tech (in Holland)
http://www.volvotech.eu/
but their website has moved and the new site throws up a security error.

As it happens I have a CFE for sale.

It was was fitted to my 2011 Exec but I needed to use the OBD2 socket for a solar panel so it's spare now.

Let me know if you are interested.

Cheers

Dave

Hi Dave thanks for responding. To be honest I’m not sure I understand you correctly. I already have the folding mirror function on the dashboard switch. Issue is I keep forgetting to press it. With some of my previous cars I have been able to alter the code so that they fold when you lock the car. I’m guessing this would be via VIDA but before I invest in it I wanted to know if it was possible.

Thanks again

Adam

No, it's not a native function of the Gen 1 XC90 and therefore it's not something you can simply configure via VIDA. You would need the CFE/+ device already referred to.

Just be sure that you have the correct version of the device (the more expensive the model of CFE, the more functions it supports) and that it's one that supports your model year of vehicle.

Hi
Thank you both for your help. Sorry for the late response, I got sidetracked with life. Does this CFE do anything else as it’s obviously not a cheap part.

Again thanks for your help.

Not all functions are available on all models.

Depends on what is fitted to the car originally but the attached will give you an idea.

Thank you for your help Dave. I would be interested in your CFE but id only be using it for the Mirror fold on lock/unlock. let me know what sort of price you have in mind for it.

Thanks

Adam
