Accelerator pedal
Hi,
Just wondering if anybody else's little switch on there accelerator pedal clicks back up after pressing the throttle all the way down and releasing ? I'm sure mine never used to do this and is quite annoying now. Thanks.

Perhaps the switch is "sticky" and releases a bit slower than it should.
I would contact my dealer, perhaps the switch will fail over time.

Mine does this on release if I stomp on the pedal. It's been doing it since I got the car and doesn't seem to have had any adverse effect. Hopefully it just sounds worse than it actually is!

That is the Kickdown simulation device for auto models . You will know what I mean if you are familiar with autos before the 1990's when they were all mechanical . IT doesn't do anything , it is just a clicker at the full throttle position .

I don't use full throttle, too much fuel is set free into the motor!

Finished work today and took a chance and sprayed some WD40 spray onto the switch and hinge part of the pedal, it has freed it up lovely you can feel the pedal push back too once released.
One job off the list just the squeeky brakes next

Does the switch actually do anything?
Had a glance under the pedal today and there it is a small switch. Never knew I had such a thing.

Also I find that every so often if I get in the car without starting it then depress the accelerator pedal, twist and hold the start knob until all the usual lights come on then go out then start the car it feels like it drives nicer. Probably placebo effect but hey
