Default Spotify update won’t install

Got notification in car about a new Spotify update this morning. Great, said I, hopefully they’ve fixed all the bugs!

No such luck. The update refuses to install. It keeps crashing out with “No connection to service” while installing. On top of that, it locks out the existing installed Spotify app. Grr.

Seems to have all the hallmarks of an overloaded update server.

Anyone else managed to update successfully?

I had problems with a previous release of Spotify where it eventually failed after I think a week of a stuck update.

I find it's better to delete the app and then install fresh rather than update. Found that always goes in cleanly.

As above delete the app and reinstall it.
